Another advantage is the increased socialization opportunities among people. Teenagers, for instance, utilize apps like TikTok to share dances with friends from overseas whom they have not had an opportunity to meet in the real world. Furthermore, a noteworthy positive aspect is the sharing of governmental policies, which enhances the collective global experience. The exchange of information during the COVID-19 pandemic, for instance, has improved the response to the disease in many countries.
However, globalization also has its downsides. One such disadvantage is the loss of traditional customs, as they gradually blend with foreign practices and may eventually disappear altogether. For instance, the introduction of Santa Claus by Americans has overshadowed the belief in the birth of Christ during Christmas celebrations. Another negative aspect is the integration of unhealthy eating habits into many cultures. Fast food multinational corporations like McDonald’s and Starbucks have become widely available, significantly worsening the dietary patterns of both children and adults worldwide.
In conclusion, although there are drawbacks to cultural sharing between countries, such as the loss of cultural identity and the negative impact on dietary habits, I believe that the advantages of cultural and linguistic exchanges, fostering new relationships, and sharing political knowledge far outweigh these disadvantages.
