Nowadays, smartphones have already become the most essential part of our lives. Therefore, the controversy over whether they make us more or less associated as human beings is still ongoing. Smartphones have monumental advantages and disadvantages that inevitably influence our lives.
Smartphones make communication faster and more convenient. People can instantly contact with their friends, family members through messaging applications, soical media, video calls, regardless of their geographical distance. This is particularly beneficial for those who live far from the people they loved.
On the other hand, excessive smartphone use can negatively influence to face to face communication. This concern is becoming increasingly common among individuals. Currently, many people struggle to communicate effectively with others. I strongly believe that, phones make us less willing to interact with others and withdrawn from the society. For instance, when a family is having a lunch, each member deal with scrolling on social media or texting someone instead of having a meaning conversation with their family. Clearly, this can damage social interaction.
Moreover, smartphones are a limitless source of learning. People can enhance their knowledge and abilities through AI tools, websites, and educational applications. Learners can access a wide range of education materials instantly.
If we take all the advantages and disadvantages into consideration, generally smartphones make our lives easier and convenient. We can access every information immediately, regulate our education and work through our phones. The benefits are completely outweigh its disadvantages. I maintian that we can reduce these disadvantages by avoiding excessive smartphone use. This would help to protect our relationships with the people around us.
