Every country has its own cultures and traditions. This also effect even the choices of people about university and which path they will follow, whether they will stay with their parents or not. Both options have advantages and disadvantages.
First of all, staying in your hometown for college has pros and cons. Starting with positive aspects, first thing is that you need less money because you already have your home, and you consume your food from house. However, this is because you have the same life except your new school it may feel like overwhelming and odd sometimes. On the top of that, there is a possiblity that you may stick to your high school friends and not meet with new people.
On the other hand, some believe that changing your city for college is full of opportunuties, such as expanding your network, build up your self-esteem and knowledge. Moreover, it gives people to discover and experience new things. For instance, people can find part-time jobs while studying to make their living in a different city or country. Sometimes there can be hard times while adjusting to the new environment, but even that will make you more resilient person. However, some suggest that living far from your parents may got weakened your family bonds. Family get togethers are arranged less and families split up. Also, if person can not fit in the place that she/he goes, there is a high possibility that they can go through depression.
In conclusion, I think there are arguments against and for the idea of going far from home for university education. The important thing is that being aware of these issues and choose to best path for your personal development.
