Many people still debate on weather students should leave their families during their college period. On one hand, many college students decide to live away from home during their studies because of several considerations such as university choices. When it comes pursue dream or study, most students will consider choosing the best university that are able to provide them with best curiculum and facilities. Some students have to leave their families in order to pursue their dream univesity. The decision is valid since they don’t want to gamble with this matter. They want the best for their future so living away from home will not be matter. Furthermore, some students probably do not have any university in their area making them to have no choice unless to stay away form home for studies. In addition, many parents wants to see and teach their children to live independently so having them to live away is one of the option to give them lessons. Living by themselves or with other friends will equip students to develop their creativity, problem solving skills and their basic survival skill that are important for their life.
On the other hand, some people argue that living away from home will only add another expenses to the household. On top of that parents cannot control the activities of their children since they are away. For this reason, some parents think that their children should stay with them during their studies in the university.
In conclusion, while there are valid arguments from both sides, I believe that students will get more benefits while living away from home. By doing so they are able to develop their social skills by learning more about other places, meeting with various people and learning new cultures. Those will shape their personality and their ability to live independently and improve their confidence.
