Nowadays, spending time in the natural environment and doing outdoor activities have become less attractive types of entertainment for younger individuals during days-off. In my opinion, the cutting edge of technology has a profound reason for being into indoor activities and this problem of mankind can be tackled by organising events and festivals.
The development of technology has affected the current generation’s lifestyle. Apparently, ten years ago, people were physically active in comparison with the present time. Activities such as riding bike or skateboard had been popular among teenagers until innovative activities were introduced. For people it is easier to have a dose of dopamine by scrolling short videos and reels, rather than going out and draining their energy. After a workload or dense schedule at school, teenagers are likely to rest at home by watching sitcoms and be engaged in a sedentary lifestyle. For instance, drawing might have a calming effect which is considered as a session in order to recharge. If they want to arrange an appointment and meet with their friends, they need to get dressed and commute to the destination which is also time-consuming. Thus, teenagers prefer not to go out and save both mental health and time.
In order to cope with it, it is recommended to organise some events and festivals for them in the mountains and hills. In modern life, there are many clubs and organizations where they provide appealing games for teenagers’ interests. These clubs could invite special guests who are quite popular among local youth. To entertain them, they can perform teenagers’ favorite songs. Moreover, organizing games can support not only the health condition of teenagers but also challenge their intellects. For example, games like “Quiz”, “Kahoot” usually require students to use their knowledge and physical capacity to deal with given tasks such as reaching a peak. As a result, these types of occasions could encourage them to intentionally take part in outdoor activities and spend remarkable time during holidays and be surrounded by wild nature.
To sum up, spending time outside is a less interesting type of activity for younger people even if they have time during weekends. I believe that development of technology has a prominent effect on being less active, and this problem could be solved by arranging festivals and events.
