Since the 20th century, as air travel and telecommunication developed, the relationship between different parts of the world has developed. Even though there are some benefits for society, I think it causes some drawbacks such as loss of cultural identity.
People who think that the world benefits from these technologies put forward two main arguments. Flights and communication worldwide provide access to cultural exchanges. Exchanging cultural habits among the world results in divers lifestyle, because individuals have a variety of opportunities to choose. Things surrounded by people range from foods to appearance of architachture and fashion. All of these changes provide a meaningful life. Additionally, thanks to aircraft it is easier to travel the world, which leads to economic growth. More tourists mean more cash for local people. Visitors travel around popular places where they need to eat, stay, and travel by transport. All of this creates new job positions for locals and it increases the economy.
That said, I do think this relationship can lead to globalization. Too much foreign influence can dilute traditional values, a loss of individual cultural identity. As globalization increases young generations immediately adapt to foreign culture rather than its national culture. For example, the generalization of nations motivates young people to watch TikTok short videos to watch films or books. This causes ignorance among the young generation. Moreover, environmental problems can occur as global connections develop. Since there will be more flights in the sky, the airplanes release carbon dioxide. Which causes not only environmental but also health issues.
In conclusion, although air transport and telecommunication offer development in business and society, they will create serious problems such as air pollution and loss of national traditions.
