There is an opinion that economic development is the only criterion contributing to the prosperity of a nation. Personally, while the crucial role of economy is undeniable, the importance of other factors should not be overlooked for the following reasons:
On the one hand, macroeconomic expansion serves as a fundamental catalyst for national prosperity. First and foremost, this factor lays a robust financial foundation for other aspects of a country to develop. To be more specific, consistent fiscal revenues collected from exported and imported activities can be invested in other crucial aspects, such as education and military, as well as public infrastructure to enhance the living standards of dwellers. Furthermore, prioritizing economic growth can mitigate the unemployment rate. This is because a flourishing economy will attract foreign investments, therefore providing additional job opportunities.
On the other hand, the success of a nation can be attributed to other sectors, such as diplomacy and healthcare. Firstly, diplomacy promotes peace among territories in the world. For more illustrations, bilateral and multilateral cooperation, as well as proper geopolitical strategies will help resolve conflicts without having to engage in war and being under military tension, which avoids sacrifice and loss of independence. Secondly, healthcare is an indispensable sectors contributing to a prosperity of a cultural background. Preventive healthcare initiatives can avoid the spread of epidemics, thereby ensuring residents’ health condition. As a result, this can be considered a prerequisite for maintaining a quality labor force for macroeconomic development.
In conclusion, from my perspective, economy, diplomacy and healthcare exert significant influence on the holistic growth of a country. Therefore, no alternative determinants can replace the others to bring the corresponding comprehensive development to a region.
