Most employees do not exercise enough either in their working day or their freetime, which eventually causes a range of health problems. In my opinion, this happens because modern working schedules do not allocate enough time for such activities. To address this issue, it is vital to integrate movement in people’s working routines.
Nowadays, finding some free time to exercise during the working day sounds challenging due to the overloaded work schedule. Staff has to complete a variety of different tasks with strict deadlines, which limits their flexibility and desire to have any kind of activity throughout the day. An ordinary office worker, for example, has to prepare a document, check all the potential imperfections, and wait for the principal’s approval for hours. Moreover, colleagues often ask for help or a piece of advice that also takes a considerable amount of time. Eventually, this office worker has no time to even think about doing some exercises. Such tendency finally leads to health issues that negatively affect professional performance.
Implementing movement in workers’ routines is one of the ways to solve this problem. By adding compulsory sessions of training, companies would encourage employees to exercise without any deadline stress. There are many examples of such initiatives from different corporations and companies around the world. For example, stretch breaks are beneficial to overall calmness, since they loosen muscles and improve the blood flow in the body. These changes can foster job performance and more importantly prevent illnesses.
In conclusion, the reason individuals avoid doing exercises at work is an overloaded schedule that has no gaps for such activity, yet this challenge can be effectively addressed if employers introduce mandatory physical breaks into the daily workflow.
