In this day and age, many aged individuals are sent to care homes or nursing houses instead of receiving caring attention from their families. In this essay, I would evaluate the benefits and drawbacks of this tendency before assessing its overall implications.
On the one hand, there are several compelling rationales why the elderly should actively attend to these organizations. One notable reason is that experienced nurses, who have essential skills and specialist understanding related to medication, take care of them constantly. For instance, those can remind the elderly about take medicine consistently every day that guarantees their health optimally and prevents from illness. Furthermore, senior people also are more likely to enhance their physical and mental life. This is due to the fact that they have more chances to engage in many activities with people of the same age, including morning exercises or confiding their stories, so they are not only avoid bone-related diseases but also have enjoyable moments that play a vital role within their moral life.
On the other hand, there are also negative influences associated to this viewpoint. These older people can be affected adversely to their psychological hurts due to the shortage of nursing from their offspring who previously are nurtured by themselves. Therefore, the separation of distance and caring in the length period of time could lead to the plunge of interaction amongst members of family. For example, according a survey done by Harvard University, up to 50% of this generation living in care houses feel lonely.
In conclusion, although there are both pros and cons about these individuals who is cared in nursing institutions, I believe that the best method should be combination of family and caring agency because of the advantageous effects of these organizations and improvement of their relative’s emotion.
