Productivity at work has always been a serious concern for business owners. One proposed solution is the provision of discount gym membership for the staff to boost their health, leading to more favorable output. Yet, some disapprove the effectiveness of such scheme. I personally deem that a balanced approach needs to be considered.
On one side, some suggest that if companies subsidize sports activities, employees will probably be more willing to attend clubs and gyms. Being physically active, therefore, can boost the over productivity in that when people are physically and mentally healthier, they can have a higher level of concentration, leading to better results. Consequently, while a business may expend on sports tokens, the subsequent results can compensate in addition to having more focused and mentally robust staff.
On the other hand, proponents of this policy believe that other mechanism can work better. For one, in some jobs involving a lot of physical efforts, managers can provide the subordinates with holiday entitlement so that the personnel can spend a quality time with their family members and the beloved ones relaxing. Fire fighters, police officers, and rescue teams are constantly exerting too much physically that they do not require gym or sports sessions, so, in order to make them better job holders, a stronger impact on their performance may be left by devising alternative incentives other than club subsidy.
In conclusion, personally I argue that there is no fixed method when deciding on ways to accelerate efficiency owing to dissimilarity of professions. So, if a job is innately stationary adding sessions of body movements can facilitate workers’ wellbeing and better performance, yet, for those working in occupations with adequate physical involvement, sports subsidy plan might not be so effective.
