Environmental degradation has become a real issue over the decade, leading to debate over whether it can be effectively addressed by individuals or requires government aid. I disagree with the view that only the government can bring real changes, as people also play a crucial role in decreasing environmental damage by daily habit and collective actions.
Individuals play a vital role in combating environmental pollution through their everyday actions. For example, they can reduce single-use plastics, recycle household waste, and turn-off the lights when it is not in use. These small actions can completely reduce overall pollution. Furthermore, citizens can stop throwaway culture which can significantly cut off the amount of pollution. For instance, widespread recycling programs such as Jasyl El which relies on citizens aid, have successfully decreased the amount of trash over the years. Therefore, individual efforts are not insignificant; they are essential for reducing pollution.
Apart from these actions, the environmental issue can be addressed by collective actions of the public. Local citizens can create a special group for undertaking numerous actions to combat environmental degradation. For example, organizing cleaning-up, tree planting and awareness programs which will have a positive influence on the environment. As a result, they can encourage other people to create such programs by prioritizing the reducing pollution. Moreover, when individuals collaborate, their impacts become larger than isolated actions. Consequently, these measures can be done with only local labour and affect positively with cutting the amount of pollution.
To conclude, some people think that it is not possible to combat the pollution only with the individuals actions, however forming various programmes and doing eco-friendly activities such as collecting trash can diminish environmental waste.
