There is a controversial topic : some say schools schools should teach students untill they turn to 18 while others have an opposing view. I think, hovewer, free will should be given to everyone, as many have different future plans.
On the one hand, having education untill 18 has many advantages. Students can achieve high academic results, for example, by learning through the formal lessons, and many get certificates that help them to create strong portfolio for applying to competitive universities. Of course, some can get these while doing self-study, yet the percentage of students who accepted and won scholarships from top universities are those who completed full school educational program.
On the other hand, depending only on statistics cannot guarantee that it will be beneficial for everyone to have full program. Specifically, there are as equal number of people who want to strengthen their skills and become professional job owner as those who want to apply to universities. Thus, giving them full school years will be against their aims. Instead, giving them a choice – that is, asking whether they want to continue academic years, or if they want to start an early career – will be a fair way.
In conclusion, it is true that studying untill 18 has many bebefits. Granted, forcing someone to the way they don’t want to be in had and will never come with great consequences.
