Few artists ever manage to achieve fame, let alone liveable wage. As a result, some people that is irresponsible for parents to encourage their children to pursue an artistic career. While I understand this opinion because of the financial challanges involved, I only partly agree, as children should still be supported if they have genuine talent and passion.
On the other hand, parents have valid reasons to be concerned about encouraging an artistic career. Learning art often requires a significabnt finnancial invesment. For example, students students may need to payfor specialised courses, purchase, expensive equipment or materials, and participate in exhibations or competitions to gain experience. This costs can place considerable pressure on famillies, especially those financial recourses. Furthermore, many artists struggle to earn a stable income, making it understandable that parents prefer careers that offer greater financial security.
On the other hand, completely discouraging children from becoming artists may prevent them from reaching their full potential. every profession involves some degree of uncertainty, and success depends largely on hard work, determination, and continuous learning. In addition, the development of technology has created many new career opportunities in the creative industry. Today, talented artists can work as illustrators, animator, graphic designers, or digital content creators, allowing them to earn a stable income while doing what they enjoy. Therefore, parents should guide their children rather than discourage them completely.
In conclusion, I partly agre that parents should think carefully before encouraging an artistic career because it can be costly and financially uncertain. However, if a child has exceptional ability and receives proper guidance, pursuing art can still become a successful and rewarding profession.
