Band 4: Fresh water has always been a limited resource in some parts of the world. Today, however, growing worldwide demand has made this a global problem. What are the causes of the increased demand and what measure could governments and individuals take to respond to this problem? Fresh water is a need for every living being on Earth as fresh water is a requirement for every being to survive. However, fresh water is not an unlimited resource, it creates scarcity in several regions of the world. This paper will discuss the point of view of fresh waters access and express my opinion on both points.

The first point of view is everyone has the freedom to access fresh water. Water is free for everyone to use for their own purposes and contributes immensely to every human’s daily life. The positive impact of fresh water creates a very demand; however, the Earth surface consists of 70% water, which can suffice the overall demand of fresh water around the world, with the application of technologies to transform water to daily fresh water. I personally agree with this as I stated above, fresh water is a resource everyone need and its very abundant.

The second point of view is governments should limit fresh water as a limited resource. The scarcity of fresh water is a problem in many regions, with the most mentioned being Africa. For African living near the deserts, fresh water is considered a blessing for every household. Whenever fresh water is contributed to the region, the point of view of government controlling the distribution is ideal for fairness between the households. However, outside of the context above, I cannot see the point of view being valid anywhere else in the world with the supply of fresh water being abundant everywhere else.
