Band 6+: Global warming is one of the biggest threats humans face in the 21st Century and sea levels are continuing to rise at alarming rates. What problems are associated with this and what are some possible solutions.

Note: Both the topic and the essay were created by one of our users.

In recent years, global warming has become a sensational problem and one of the biggest threats for humans. The continuous increase in global warming has directly influenced glacier melting in the poles, and a rapid increase in sea level can be observed. This essay will explore the root causes of this problematic phenomenon and suggest some measures to solve and minimize its effects.

Among the many reasons for causing global warming, carbon emissions along with other greenhouse gases from automobiles and industries are the primary factor that has caused global warming to a great extent. Carbon emitted from vehicles and industries gets trapped in the lower ozone layer and traps all the reflected rays from the Earth’s surface, ultimately increasing Earth’s temperature and causing global warming. Likewise, sulfur dioxide, which was used as a refrigerator coolant in earlier years, was another factor contributing to increasing global warming.

In my point of view, governments must bear the responsibility for overcoming this problem. Firstly, governments must focus on eliminating old transport vehicles and slowly replace all petrol and diesel-consuming vehicles with advanced modernized electric vehicles. Secondly, all factories that produce a serious amount of greenhouse gases should be banned, and other industries with lower greenhouse gas emission rates must strictly use government-certified gas filtration systems.

To sum up, rising sea levels are due to the gradual increase in global warming, and greenhouse gas emissions from automobiles and industries are the principal source causing it. Although self-awareness among residents can help them understand the gravity of this problem, unless the government steps in, this hurdle cannot be crossed.
