According to the recent research, many ex-criminals commit crime again after being released from prisons. This is mainly caused by the isolation they feel after being free. However, this problem can be addressed through measures that raise public awareness.
The key reason behind reoffending is the feeling of seperation from the society that criminals experience. People who were once been in prison are often associated with danger for most individuals. That is why they tend to avoid these people both in every day life and in professional sphere. For example, in the workplaces employers do not even consider these people as candidates mainly because for them these individuals are the harm to the worplace’s morale. This exemplifies the unjustified role of this people in the society.
To remove this perspective, governments should create campaigns that support ex-criminals. By educating people and showing off some of them being changed after the release, campaigns can result in the better and fair society. A case in point are the successful people that were once criminals. They can be invited to various speeches to talk about these experience that they felt and how these people feel after being released. People mostly listen to such people, since their success are often the inspiration for most. Moreover, if people understand that by accepting these individuals they can lower the feoffending rate, they will certainly do it.
In conclusion, reoffending is often caused by the seperation from the society and by avoiding that, we can create the safer society.
