Money being used for artistic pursuits, should be shifted by the government to the education sector. While some might agree, I wholly disagree due to two major reasons.
One, art has existed at the fulcrum of human existence ever since we began our time on earth. It has worked wonderfully to evoke the whole spectrum of human emotions and has helped humans to process major grief or joy in forms of sonnets,poems,movies or even something as banal as a caveman drawing.
On the other hand, for those who are deeply invested in the cultivation of artistic pursuits, it is not just art, it’s self expression for them. By shifting funds, we’re suppressing a significant chunk of individuals who feel their fullest when creating something the whole society can enjoy together. Art has always served as a fastidious source of human togetherness in the face of war and it is in these difficult times, can we truly gauge art’s true impact.
Governments tactfully shifting money allocated for art to education is something that does not sit right with me. There is a world where both education and art can co exist freely and blossom together.
