In today’s world, using transportation systems has become more widespread compared to past centuries. Some people believe that the government should start to invest more money in railways instead of roads, because the railways can be considered more environmentally friendly and reduce traffic congestion. Meanwhile, others claim that if the government spent more money on road systems, then citizens could get several benefits from this approach, such as the flexibility of roads and the accessibility of different regions, which railway systems cannot reach. I believe that funding more money on railways has more advantages than roads.

First and foremost, many individuals heavily rely on transportation systems due to numerous reasons, such as the flexibility, accessibility, and affordability of these systems. Some people think that if the government spent more money and developed advanced railway systems, then other people who usually use their own private vehicles for commuting or other reasons could switch to using railways. This new investment might bring several advantages for people, such as reducing the amount of money spent on fuel for their cars. They will start to take trains to go to their job, school, or where they want to go. In addition, establishing new railways can cut the amount of excessive carbon emissions in the air. This is due to the reduced number of private cars on the roads.

Another compelling idea worth to mentioning is that if the government funds money for building railways, then we can see a significant decline in traffic congestion. Nowadays, people use their own cars for their own benefits, such as convenience. However, on the other hand, this brings many drawbacks. For example, an increasing number of vehicles on the roads, accidents, and also contribution to air pollution. Expanding rail networks encourages people to shift from their own private cars to public transport; then, the amount of time that it takes for traveling is declines and a considerable drop in accidents can be seen. For instance, Japan has invested heavily in its high-speed rail system, which has significantly reduced travel time and dependence on private cars.

In conclusion, some individuals believe that the government should invest more money in developing the railway network to improve accessibility to rural areas, increase flexibility, and reduce commuting time. However, others claim that roads are more significant than the railway system without considering drawbacks such as air pollution, the growing amount of carbon emissions, and so on.
