Redevelopment is an essential aspect, whether in structures, streets or living spaces, as it improves the infrastructure and connectivity. For this reason, the governing bodies often expend a tremendous amount of funds on revamping antique buildings in metropolitan centres, while many believe that this capital can be utilised for the construction of accommodations and routes. I partially agree with the latter statement, as many individuals often struggle to acquire space for living, and poor road conditions have led to several mishappenings and malfunctions in automobiles.
To begin with, people, especially those who are employed and are being transferred from one city to another on a half-yearly basis, often face challenges in getting a house to live in the city. Due to this reason, they are not left with any other option but to purchase a house situated on the outskirts of the city and far away from their workplace, making it difficult for them to commute. Apart from that, over time, poor road conditions have constituted a major reason for the breakdown of vehicles, making it a herculean task for individuals to maintain them. For example, recently, a survey reported that poor street construction has led to a surge in the frequency of the servicing of cars. Hence, the development of living spaces and roads must be paid heed by the government.
On the other hand, old buildings have always contributed towards the popularity of a city, as they act as a front face, which makes them the pivotal concern for the government. However, there are several living spaces that are not well-built in terms of sturdiness, leading them to collapse during natural calamities. Similarly, the worsened path conditions have led to several accidents, resulting in many casualties. For instance, recently, residents of Delhi have raised their voices against the deteriorating road health, as many deaths have occurred in their families due to this. Therefore, the governing bodies need to start constructing homes and routes in a better manner.
In conclusion, although old buildings attract people towards them, building homes and streets must be a concern as many individuals have suffered due to the lack of these.
