The issue of whether scientists should spend less funds on space projects or not, raised a debate among people worldwide. There are some aspects of the matter to be taken into consideration. While I disagree with some parts of investing on space explorations, I admit its overall context.
First of all, it has always been within human being’s nature to seek for further knowledge and development. ambition has unceasingly been a catalyst to societies’ prosperity as well. To illustrate, countries like UK, with higher budget’s dedication into science fields, has earned far more profits than most of middle eastern nations, which consider it as a wasteful investment. Secondly, since it is apparent that our planet’s energy sources will one day be used up, researchers are making huge efforts to reach other everlasting supplies; so people of next generations be able to have an ordinary life. Furthermore, to judge this argument from another perspective, every person must have the freedom to pursue his or her interests and nobody is allowed to question other’s living manners , unless, it apposes to an individual’s rights.
On the other hand, some assume that exploring outer space for finding a supply is far-fetched, in particular in Mars, and this sum of money could be utilized effectively on discovery missions on the earth, for example deep in the oceans in order to quench the desire for exploration and it is said that if this amount of money had been distributed to starving humans and poor families, the number of figures , who suffer from poverty, would have significantly diminished. The opponents also believe that people in need in current time should be prioritized than people of future years.
In conclusion, while many find space programs justified for following dreams and aspirations, others think humans have to be more concerned about their peers than discovering new things. I personally like searching further environments and believe these expeditions bring joy in the end.
