Some people believe that having more money than leisure time is their preference, some prefer to have more free time in exchange for less income. Although money is an essential resource for living, I agree that having more leisure time but less income is more sustainable in the long term.
According to the definition of free time, people would spend time on various activities for relaxation or relief of their anxiety, thus during this period, creativity and enjoyment would play an important role compared to when they are at work. However, some may acknowledge that activity they do during their leisure time perhaps could generate income more than working in a full-time occupation that is time consuming. For example, most painters or artists who are not well-trained from art school begin their career from doing it in their free time, as they achieve more reputation and more engagement from the society, this activity becomes the primary job for them. Likewise, If each individual spends quality time during their free time, they could make advance progress in their career development, which could alternate the direction in life.
On the other hand, leisure time can be disadvantageous if it does not generate any progress that benefits our living skills. Consequently, the disruption in finance would occur because they are focusing more on full-fill their enjoyment rather than to obtain more money from their career. In fact, for people who have weak points in financial management, this could lead to major problems in the future that would require more effort to solve them as they prioritize more free time rather than working to receive more financial resources, thus leisure time could be a beneficial activity if it has something in return for their improvement in life.
To conclude, although some people prefer to obtain more money in exchange with their free time, for some people leisure time gives them more quality time to compete with something they prefer which could lead them to the alternative path of career that provides them more in terms of enjoyment full-fill.
