Numerous fields are considered essential to teach students at schools and universities. Some people hold the view that educational institutions should deliver lectures about history in their curriculum. From my perspective, I completely concur with the importance of teaching history to students.
To begin with, history education plays an extremely vital role in raising the cultural and societal awareness of students. Every historical knowledge is bound up with the traditions passed down from the previous generations. By being instructed in history at schools and universities, students gain a thorough understanding of the history of their nations. As a result, students can enhance their consciousness of preserving civilization and unique cultures. Moreover, instructing history to the young can foster their patriotism, which is the most crucial factor every civilian must own. Students can develop a deeper sense of pride in their country and take more responsibility to protect their cultural heritage.
Additionally, studying history also helps youngsters improve their level of overall academic performance. Grasping a sea of knowledge related to history can develop critical thinking skills because students have to deal with a plethora of information from the past and analyze logically whether the data is authentic or not. Moreover, history can inspire the young to overcome difficulties when they are in trouble. For example, in Vietnam, educators usually teach about prominent historical figures such as leaders, heroes, and scientists to motivate students.
In conclusion, it is believed that history is essential and should be taught at schools and universities. From my point of view, I strongly support this idea as history education not only increases cultural awareness but also develops valuable skills for students.
