Nowadays, the total number of homeless people has been increasing dramatically around the world. Owning a house is a basic human right, but it has become harder to own one due to many reasons. To fix this problem, the focus must first be on the roots before the leaves.
To shed light on the issue of housing and accommodation, many reasons must be considered. First, it starts with the banks; they make it very challenging for a normal person to get a house loan because of their laws and policies. Some countries make the situation worse by adding taxes on the imported materials used in the building process, which raises the prices of accommodation. Most people choose to live in major cities, where there are limited number of houses, and end up renting instead of owning, or even worse, homeless.
This global problem can be easily solved if the banks apply lower interest rates and fewer laws and regulations on mortgages, in order to make it within reach of any person. Governments can help by applying lower taxes on materials to help build more affordable houses. There should be cheaper options, such as buildings with many flats and outside the expensive cities, to make them easier to buy.
As far as I am concerned, I personally believe governments should be on the people’s side and offer many educational campaigns to help educate people about the importance of owning a house. Helping people get a house is not enough, governments ought to apply lower hydro and water bills to make living a right for everyone.
