Band 8+: How has been changed the process of studying last 20 years?

Note: Both the topic and the essay were created by one of our users.

Over the past two decades, the landscape of education has undergone a dramatic transformation. Unlike twenty years ago, when educational opportunities and access to various types of degrees and professions were considerably limited, today’s learners enjoy a vast array of choices and resources. The integration of technology, including computers, the Internet, and artificial intelligence, has significantly altered the educational process, enhancing accessibility and convenience.

In contemporary education, students no longer rely solely on physical libraries for information retrieval; a simple internet search can provide instant access to a vast repository of knowledge. This shift not only streamlines the research process but also alleviates the burden of carrying heavy textbooks, as e-books and online resources are readily available. Additionally, the option to type notes or complete assignments on digital devices saves time and energy, allowing students to focus on understanding content rather than the mechanics of writing.

However, these advancements are not without their drawbacks. The ease of access to information has led to a concerning trend of academic laziness. Many students resort to shortcuts, such as plagiarism or relying on online answers rather than engaging deeply with the material. Consequently, despite obtaining degrees, some graduates may find themselves ill-prepared for practical application of knowledge, as they have not invested the requisite effort into their learning journey.

In conclusion, while the evolution of educational methods over the past twenty years has introduced numerous advantages, it has also presented significant challenges. The availability of resources and technological advancements can facilitate learning, but they also risk creating a generation that undervalues the learning process itself. Ultimately, I believe that these changes, when approached with a conscious effort to prioritize genuine learning, can lead to a more informed and capable society.

Nowadays it is easier for young people to have credit cards compared to past. Do the advantages of this trend outweigh disadvantage

Acess to a credit card has become increasingly easier for young individuals. Even though the benefit include significant opportunities and convenience, I am convinced that there are still greater drawbacks, especially debt and financial unmanagement. In many countries, primary and secondary schools close for two months or more in summer holidays. What is the value of long holidays? What are the arguments in favor of shorter school holidays.

In many countries, students have a summer break lasting two months or more. Some people think international events such as the Olympic Games are important and can bring nations together. Others, however, think that they are a waste of money as the money could be spent elsewhere on more important issues. Discuss both these views and give your own opinion.

Some people think that global sports, such as The Football World Cup and The Olympics are a good way to bring different nations together. However, others believe that these games create more competition instead of friendship. I agree with former view and believe that these events largely foster internationally unity.
