A field that fascinates me and interests me is public speaking, specifically relating to law and diplomacy. Public speaking is a very important skill that not only successful lawyers should acquire, but also students. It improves many skills such as negotiation, communication, and also boosts confidence. It’s also very important to lawyers because it helps in persuasive negotiations, representing legal cases clearly, and it also enables clear communication between clients as well as colleagues. Public speaking also plays a huge role in diplomacy since the ability to present clear arguments while still using legal terminology is very important.
In addition to my regular education, I continued to pursue this interest through a variety of activities. I developed my public speaking skills and ability to communicate effectively with others through different ways such as participating in debates. I was a member of our school’s student council, and I had the responsibility to plan events, and I had to make sure I was communicating with my peers easily and clearly. In addition to that, I was the captain of our school’s middle school basketball team, and the vice captain for our volleyball team as well. I also took part in our drama club, and got 3rd place in our city. All of these combined experiences have helped develop my speaking and leadership skills immensely. They’ve helped me develop my conflict resolution skills, communication skills, collaboration skills, and have also helped in boosting my confidence, practice speaking in front of an audience, as well as overcoming my fear of public speaking. I believe that all of these skills are very important for me to improve and develop, since they could help in preparing for future obstacles in law and diplomacy.
My passion is to fight for justice and to have a real, positive influence not just on my country, but worldwide. My long-term goals are to improve these skills so that I may represent my country in the best possible way. Mastering public speaking will be important to clearly define and explain government ideas, promoting government policies, and creating new international relationships.
