Remote work has become a quite popular way in working industry due to constant changing towards a more advanced lifestyle. This remote work creates a stir in the resource market and leaves impact on the whole society in every aspects including productivity and work-life balance. However, only the two facets: productivity and work life balance shall be discussed in this essay.

To begin with, productivity depends on the employees and their traits. For example, indulgent workers may waste their time for personal entertainment rather than actually working even in working hours. Employer won’t be able to supervise the worker’s activity and hence, the productivity gets reduced. On the other hand, hardworking and disciplined workers may spend their time efficiently, getting the job done conveniently without naggings of their employers. Nevertheless, generally, the researchers found that fully remote work is associated with about 10% lower productivity than fully in-person work.

Moving on to work-life balance, remote work offers plenty of free time to participate in activities and hobbies compared to in-person work. As a result, with those plenty of free time, the employees could devote time to their families and invest in themselves, moving to their higher potential. In addition, not only they improve their working efficiency but also mental well-beings and happiness. Thereby, remote work certainly maintain work-life balance.

In conclusion, remote working lifestyle is similar to a saying which follows “There is good and bad in everything”. Nonetheless, with proper supervision on employees in the working hours, mankind could approach to a more joyful and efficient lifestyle.
