Band 8+: In both education and employment some people tend to work harder than others . Why do you think that is the case? Is it always good to work hard

Note: Both the topic and the essay were created by one of our users.

In today’s world, working hard has become normalized in education and employment sectors, which come with both benefits and potential drawbacks.

There are a variety of factors to why many individuals choose to do so, the most prominent one being the increased financial stability. As a result, they are able to afford a better quality of life and can provide as well as support themselves and their family members. It is also possible that some people work hard merely to accumulate wealth. This means that they are able to afford the basic necessities while also allowing them to purchase additional superfluities. Moreover, it can assist in an earlier and smoother retirement, something that is a goal for many.

It is typically good to work hard; however, there are some cases that suggest otherwise. This involves effects on mental health, such as stress, anxiety, burnout, and depression, which can get even more severe if this cycle persists. In addition, it can also cause sleep deprivation which may result in eyesight deterioration and a decline in overall performance. Furthermore, it leads to a limited amount of time for social gatherings, which can weaken relationships with their relatives, friends, as well as partners. Consequently, it can lead to isolation, which may have serious impacts on their well-being.

To summarize, it is certain that some people work hard for valid reasons, specifically prioritizing future financial security. Although it can be beneficial, there can be harmful consequences that may backfire on initial efforts. Therefore, balance is crucial in sustaining a steady and healthy life in the long term.
