Moreover, there are certain actions that the governing body could take to solve the aforementioned issues. One practical approach is the heavy investment in public transportation networks. Expanding underground metro systems, increasing the frequency of electric buses, and offering affordable costfares would make public transport a more attractive choice than driving. Furthermore, the government can introduce more additional fees related to vehicles to deter excessive private vehicle use. For instance, increasing fees for driving into the city centre or raising the parking rates can effectively impede people from utilizing their private vehicles for simple purposes such as short trips to workplaces.
In conclusion, while there are some evident reasons that bring about this trend, I am convinced that great efforts from the state are necessary to address these problems.
