Band 5+: In many cities, there is little control on the design and construction of new houses, so people can build houses in their own styles rather than building them with the same style as the old houses in the local area. Do the advantages outweigh the disadvantages?

In recent years, the issue of constructing house by their own ideas has gained significant attention from residents in metropolitan areas. This essay discuss about firstly, the benefits of allowing people to built house by their ideas and secondly, the drawbacks of erecting exactly the same deign.

One of the main reason why the government should not restrict the rules on construction new house is that people have their independent on making their home. A personalized design ensures the house fits perfectly with the family’s lifestyle and needs. Moreover, following old designs can make homes feel outdated or generic, while a custom home feels fresh and unique. A prime instance of this is that, some people has unique styles so that they built house in nature with clear glass and view to a valley.

The main disadvantages associated with this phenomenon is that some old designs are being out-dated and not efficient enough in city’s view. Years pass by, the construction was going down and house owners have to pay a lot money to repaint the façade of the buildings. Therefore, old designs may not accommodate modern lifestyles, especially with the rise of remote work and digital living. A prime example of this is that, buildings on original site could have drawbacks for owners such as: lack of personal’s place and not suitable in each seasons.

In conclusion for the reason that mentioned above, I maintain that the benefits of allowing house owners have ideas to constructed their house outweight its drawbacks.
