Over the last few decades, crime has become increasingly common, particularly among children and teenager around the world. This is mainly because of the lack of parental supervision and poverty or financial difficulties. There are a number of solutions which should be implemented to deal with crime at young age.
One of the mean causes of the problem that young people commit crimes often, is due to the insufficient parental guidance. When parents are too busy to monitor children’s activities, teenagers associate either inadequate peers and engage in illegal behavior. Therefore, children receive less guidance and discipline and can be easily influenced by negative behavior. Secondly, some young people commit crimes to obtain money or goods because of low-income in family. Moreover, Iiving in disadvantaged areas can increase exposure to crime. For example, teenagers who are from underprivileged backgrounds because they perceive it as an easy way to make money and improve their living conditions. As a result, younger generation are committing more crimes because of poor parental control and poverty.
There are two effective solutions to the problem of reducing crime rates at young age. One way to tackle this is greater parental involvement in children’s lives by spending more time with them. In addition, parents should observe their activities and provide emotional support. By doing this, young people are less likely to engage in criminal activities. Another method of dealing with them is financial support and job training. Governments should provide vocational courses and financial assistance to disadvantaged families to reduce likelihood of juvenile crime. Furthermore, young people gain skills and legal income opportunities to earn money in the right way. As a consequence, they will have less motivation to commit crimes.
