Children in many nations are growing up to be overweight and unhealthy. Some people believe that the government should be in charge of finding a solution to this issue. I completely agree with this opinion because I believe that the authorities could encourage parents to draw more attention to their kids and involve children in more physical activities such as sports, fitness or exercising at schools.
In my view, the family environment, where teenagers live, could be the main factor. There are a lot of parents who work all day long to make a living and don’t give enough attention and time to their kids’ diet and health. As a result, children may not have access to healthy meals, and they buy and eat unhealthy food, such as fast food, with the money their parents give them for school. If the government could make parents care more about their kids, the number of overweight children would reduce.
Moreover, the government can introduce policies that make physical activity a regular part of the school curriculum. For example, schools could be required to offer a variety of sports and exercise programs to engage students of all interests. This would not only help children stay active, but it could also foster teamwork, discipline, and a healthy attitude toward fitness. Additionally, the government could invest in public facilities such as parks and sports complexes, making them easily accessible for families and schools. By promoting physical activities both in and out of school, children would have more opportunities to stay fit, reducing the risk of obesity and related health problems.
In conclusion, the authorities could tackle this issue by encouraging parents to look after their kids and involving children in more physical activities to prevent them from becoming overweight.
