Today, in many countries, consumers can go to a supermarket and buy food produced from all over the world. In my view, it is a positive development because the cost of acquiring food can be minimized, and it provides opportunities to sellers to import food from all over the world.
Nowadays, it is very easy to get whatever food you like from the supermarket. People can enjoy their favorite meals despite the fact that they live anywhere in the world. For example, sushi is a food of Japan; if anyone wants to have sushi, they can go to a nearby supermarket and get it. Moreover, they do not have to go to Japan, so the money spent on traveling can be saved. Many people are living outside their countries, and they have different tastes in food from the local people. They can easily get their local cuisines from the market. This will prevent them from feeling homesick.
On the other hand, this provides opportunities to different sellers to expand their businesses. A country’s economy depends on its exports, and food is a major contributor. We can learn about the cultures of different countries through their food. In the past, people’s food choices were limited to local foods available in the country, but now, food options have increased tremendously. This is all because of the availability of foods in the supermarket.
In conclusion, both buyers and sellers are benefiting from this. It has expanded the spectrum of the food industry.
