Band 4+: In many countries, the amount of crime is increasing. What do you think are the main causes of crime? How can we deal with those causes?

Note: Both the topic and the essay were created by one of our users.

Nowadays, having a safe and crime free community is a controversial issue. The rates of criminal actions is rising in majority of societies. In the following, I would like to point out two possible causes for this problem and two measures to tackle them, i.e., increasing number of jobless people, less strict punishments, economic conditions improvement, civil law revision, respectively.

In terms of the reasons, having no proper job to cover life expenses and the tolerable costs of doing an illegal actions seems to be main causes for aforementioned problem. It worth mentioning that, due to the situation created by reasons we have mentioned, more people tend to find an easy way to earn money. As a specimen, a young man who has been graduated newly and looks for a job, usually is asked to provide some career experience to get employed for a low payed position; thus, disappointment paves the way to committing a crime to get a considerable amount of money, which may have no consequences or in case of arrestment would end by a short time prison. All in all, these may increase the possibility of crime rates in countries.

Regarding the measures, better economic situation and more serious laws might be the solution. It should be pointed out that, the less unemployment rate and unserious civil law a county has, the more safe community it creates. For instance, people with a suitable income are less likely to steal any thig and considering a long term prison for a thief, may be frightening. To sum up, some changes seems necessary to decrease the amounts of crime.

In a nutshell, as I mentioned above two main reasons namely, being jobless and less serious civil rules and two possible solutions, such as the enhancing employment and revising the law might come in to mind for creating a secure society, which this might be easier said than done.
