In today’s advancing world, the media plays a significant role in people’s lives. There is a wide range of news which could have a deep impact on one’s mindset. In this essay, I would like to shed light on how negative and emotional information helps people to be prepared for the worst and otherwise, how it mentally affects them.
To start with, it is prominent to give importance on spreading negative and harsh news because it will help everyone to be ready to face it and one can work on finding the methods of avoiding and resolving it when needed to. When a person is introduced to any terrifying incidents on such a big platform like television or radio, there is a high chance that they will remember it for a longer time and discuss it with their near and dear ones so that in future, when a similar situation is encountered they know how to react. Alongwith it, the person committing the crime or the one hurting anyone intentionally has a fear of being exposed in news so it is extremely important to share these kind of sensational and negative news on a big scale so necessary actions are taken and people are being aware if it.
On the other hand, when these stories are showcased there is also a chance that some people tend to see it as an inspiration because it seems to be an easy way of making money like kidnapping, or robbing. In such cases, involvement of media feels worthless because it was proved in a recent interview that 40% of criminals get their ideas from news.
To sum up, I strongly perceive that all the incidents should be focused in the news to make people aware for their safety and well-being.
