Nowadays in many countries, some people using bicycles as their main part of transport is experiencing a steady decline. This trend is largely driven by safety concerns of local citizens and convenience and comfort. In my opinion, governments should invest more on bicycles places and encourage people to cycle more.
On the one hand, there are several reasons why percentage of people using bicycles is decreasing. To begin with, local people are concerned about traffic safety. Today, public transport such as buses, cars and motor vehicles is significantly increased which makes traffic becoming much more dangerous for local people, especially for students. In addition, because there are no separate lanes for bicycles, it can easily lead to accidents for local people. Furthermore, bicycles cannot provide same convenience and comfort as other transport. Some people prefer vehicles because it help them to avoid bad weather such as thunderstorms and require less physical effort than cycling to work or study.
On the other hand, there are several practical solutions that can be implemented to promote cycling. Firstly, local authorities should invest heavily in bicycles infrastructure in urban areas such as building lanes or secure parking stations. This can make cycling much safer and more convenient, thereby local people have motivated to use cycling. Moreover, governments should organize free classes about use bicycles, it helps them have awareness campaigns to protect environment and health benefits.
In conclusion, have some reasons why people do not use bicycle such as it cannot provide convenient and comfort for them, and also lack of lanes for bicycles. However, I believe that if government invest free classes to teaching them to use bicycles, it brings benefits for them and it is a positive ways to helps them use bicycles.
