Band 7+: In many countries, the quality of life in large cities is becoming worse/ What do you think are the causes of this problem? What measures could be taken to solve it?

Note: Both the topic and the essay were created by one of our users.

In many countries, the quality of life in megacities is getting worse. There are several reasons for this situation such as overpopulation, air pollution and traffic congestion, but some steps can be taken to improve it.

The major problem is overpopulation. Many people move to large cities for work, education, and better opportunities. As a result, cities become crowded, and public services such as transport, hospitals, and schools cannot serve so many people. Another problem is traffic congestion. When so many cars are on the road, people spend hours stuck in traffic, and also fumes from that cars pollute the air. Students are the prime sufferers of that. Most of the time, they are being late for the University because of crowdedness.

However, there are several measures that governments can take to solve these problems. First, they can develop public transportation, such as buses and metro systems, to reduce the number of cars on the road. Which can reduce the air pollution and crowdedness. Second, authorities can create more green areas, including parks and trees, which help clean the air and provide people with places to relax. Another important step is to encourage companies to move to smaller towns, so that not everyone needs to live and work in big cities. This can help reduce overcrowding.

In conclusion, the quality of life in large cities is becoming worse due to overpopulation, traffic, and pollution. By improving public transport, adding green spaces, and promoting development in smaller towns, these problems can be solved.
