In some nations, there is a long duration of summer vacation. A few people favor this policy, while others feel that schools should be opened throughout the year with short breaks. Although this policy will help students to succeed in their studies, I believe that students should get breaks from their studies as they can explore their talents.
On the one hand, reducing-the-number of breaks in a year leads to success in studies. In other words, when a student needs to go to school every day, he or she will get to learn new concepts and work on their weaknesses. As a result, students will gradually overcome their difficulties for the year. However, I don’t think that regular classes are worth as students may get mental health problems because of academic pressure. For example, in a recent article published by the New York Times, it was found that the anxiety level in primary school students surged by 8% because of short breaks.
On the other hand, long breaks from academics will help students to discover their true talents. That is to say, when kids get free from their studies, they can participate in different kinds of sports, events, and even follow their passion. As this time is the best to do so because they don’t have any kind of responsibilities. For example, a well-known basketball player, Lebron James, says that he would not know his true talent if he did not take basketball classes during his summer vacation while he was in elementary school. Therefore, breaks from school are important as students can follow their passion and find their talent.
In conclusion, although shorter breaks will help students to overcome their difficulties and achieve academic success ,I completely believe that students should get break as it will help them to discover their hidden talent .
