More and more residents of rural areas have been moving towards urban areas in search of a better life, but is life really better in the city or is that just a myth?
City life comes with it’s own set of issues, which many people face on a daily basis. For example cities are, more often than not, much more dangerous than some small rural villages and that’s because of the lack of control from the authorities towards areas with a bigger population density
Heavily urbanised areas are usually subject to overcrowding and examples of that can be: New York City, San Francisco, London, etc. Overcrowding can lead to hardships in commuting around the city because of the constant traffic on the streets, and public transport being flooded with people at all times. This is an issue that can only be solved by building better infrastructure, which on the other hand would drain lots of funds that could be used towards providing benefits such as healthcare for the residents of said areas.
Living in a big city comes with a cost, the cost of living. Many residents of urban areas have to put up with the exceptionally high costs of living, making survival extremely challenging for people staying in low-income households, as well as families with children who the parents have to provide for.
Moving to a large city is a huge leap for someone who has stayed in a countryside village for the better part of their life and requires planning and courage to do so.
