Cause And Solution

Band 6+: In many countries, there is a shortage of qualified teachers, especially in rural areas. What are the causes of this problem, and what can be done to solve it?

In today’s world, people’s tendencies towards living in rural areas have transformed into urban areas since people think that the disadvantages of the countryside in education outweigh its advantages because of the scarcity of well-educated teachers. It leads to an ongoing discussion about whether the quality of literacy in the countryside is favorable or not. From my point of view, although rural areas provide a great deal of economic easiness, people related to education don’t prefer choosing to live there, bringing about long-term detrimental consequences.

There are certain reasons why rural areas suffer from scarce teachers. One reason is that these areas are classified as underdeveloped, affecting people’s attitudes towards the countryside. They present constrained amenities such as lower public facilities, and fewer amusement activities. These recreational activities play a crucial role in continuing their life properly. In addition, rural areas are far away from people’s homes. Teachers do not have to commute a great distance in order to reach the schools. Instead of preferring this option, they incline to urban areas.

In order to raise awareness about the consideration of living in undeveloped areas, governments should implement their power by increasing salaries, obtaining more promotions, or reducing housing expenses. For instance, educational ministries can pass a law about requirements for immigration to these areas with developed opportunities so as to increase the number of well-qualified teachers. Unlike inhabiting cities, instructors choosing to live in the countryside can obtain financial housing support from governments. Consequently, the advantages ensured by policy-makers can boost the abundance of teachers.

All in all, it is evident that people don’t tend to move into villages as teachers owing to the limited availability, resulting in a decrease in number of them. However, governments can create resources to sustain life of village.
