People argue about the necessity of food transportation, many believe that it should be stopped in sake of healthy meal and local trade growth by buying food from the resident farmers. That is very good take and really helpful for the environment, but there are some details that should be discussed.
To begin with the most benefit is as mentioned is brought to the local traders and farmers which will help the area to grow more in such terms. Also often the income of those sellers are used for the same area since they need to buy more of the farm items after getting growth in their markets. Also, the next important advantage is the help to the environment, less recources used for the transportation, so the fund goes to other aspects that improves country’s state. Moreover the products are always much better quality since it’s fresh and suitable for the people who live there because both people and the food is raised in same climate.
On the other hand, there are some drawbacks too, and one of them is less food especcially in terms of the fruits and meat. The reason is a lot of certain types of these meals are created under special circumstances, like the bananas growing in tropical climate, or the horse meat being hard to find in europe countries. Also, this will be an awful downward for the areas that has been feeding on food trade and their economy will crash for sure. That is a huge undeniable problem so the decision must take a note about it too.
To summarize, food transportation can not be stopped, the problems are too big to ignore. But, the inside-the-country trade is a great idea and should be spread more in future, without completely cutting the trade to other areas.
