Band 7+: In many countries, there is growing consumption of pre-packaged and fast food, contributing to various health issues. What are the primary reasons for this increase, and what steps can be taken to promote healthier eating habits?

Nowadays, many countries experience the growth of fast food, which may cause several health problems, such as heart disease, obesity, and even some sorts of mental issues. The key reason for this significant increase is the fact that fast food mostly contains horrible-quality ingredients; the government may provide better products to their citizens and monitor their composition to solve this problem.

In recent reality, individuals have a lot of opportunities to order different types of food by casually using their phones; this may lead people to become lazy and have no purpose to cook by themselves. Therefore, the competition between multiple restaurants sharply increases, and the products they are using do not always have good quality in case of a lack of profitability. Moreover, a huge proportion of the population are used to having a lack of activity due to the fact that a lot of people work in the office and have a sedentary lifestyle; for instance, if workers do not have enough activity and eat unhealthy food, their bodies would feel stressed and become poor. Furthermore, this cycle may lead people to obesity, heart disease, and mental problems because a person with this poor lifestyle cannot live happily, while their body is struggling to cope with these bad habits, resulting in a lack of energy.

Nevertheless, there are some countries, such as England and Wales, where the government already realized this issue and analyzed the local food market; this strategy helped to understand which unhealthy ingredients are contained in different consumed nutrition and replace them with good ones. In addition, people also should look after themselves and try to grow their energy by adding sports to their daily routine.

In conclusion, even though the reason for growing consumption of pre-packaged and bad food is the small amount of movement and unhealthy food habits, the government could solve this problem by removing the horrible ingredients from the meals and provide better ones to the society.
