In many countries, many graduates with high qualifications still have problems seeking job opportunities. In this essay I will explain the causes of this issue and the way to solve it.
To begin with, there are several problems which cause this issue. The first one is lack of practical experience. Many young people now tend to prioritize theoretical knowledge over hands-on skills; therefore they may struggle to meet job requirements effectively after graduation . The second reason is a lack of businesses while there are too many graduates seeking employment. Furthermore, meeting the job requirements not only demands advanced qualifications but also depends on other factors such as experiences and social skills. Consequently, this leads to an excess of human resources in the labor market and increasing unemployment after graduation despite having earned excellent degrees.
There are myriad methods to alleviate this problem. Participating in some part-time jobs that relate to their major or hands-on experiences in society before graduating is an appropriate way for students to gain practical knowledge and to prepare for starting a job, and universities can also provide some practical training during courses. For example, they can opt for some part-time jobs like waiters, tutors, or office workers, which can help them experience real-life situations in society. Another solution is that the government should cooperate with businesses to set a budget for expanding a variety of employment to give more job opportunities for graduates, so the student unemployment rate will be reduced.
In conclusion, although plenty of highly academic graduates face unemployment globally because of the lack of hands-on experiences and job opportunities, I still believe that this issue should be solved by taking part in some part-time jobs and through the collaboration of the university, government and businesses.
