It has been widely noticed that the eating habits of previous and young generations have a lot of distinctions. Some people believe that this phenomenon causes a detrimental effect on children’s organism. I completely agree with them. Below, I will elaborate on my idea.
With the advent of fast food, more and more people tend to consume fattening products and overeat. Students, especially teenagers, usually go to a fast-food restaurant to get together, instead of ingesting healthy food. Of course, occasionally eating there seems to be harmless; nevertheless, additives and large amounts of fats in these meals could lead to addiction and make you obese. Moreover, unhealthy food is the most prevalent snack because it is very cheap, and often do not need to be cooked, for example, chocolate bar or crisps.
At the same time, the diets of our ancestors were noticeably different. Without any modern technologies in the field of food processing, their products were more natural and unprocessed. Vegetables, fruits, crops that was grown without chemical fertilizers were far more natural than those we consume every day. What is more, animals weren’t exposed to modified food, so previous generations ate farm-to-table meat without any GMOs. In addition, the absence of fast food galore is attributable to their dietary habits being without excessive fats and cholesterol.
To summarize, our diet seems to be much unhealthier than our forebears’ one. It is indisputable truth because without advanced technologies and chemicals, which are in abundance now, they consumed only fresh products. The absence of fast-food restaurants contributed a lot as well.
