Nowadays, in many countries, traditional food is being replaced by international fast food, because they are more convenient and cheap. I completely agree with this opinion that fast food has a negative effect on families and society.
Firstly, replacing traditional food with fast food can lead to more and serious health problems. Traditional food often is made from natural ingredients such as vegetables, rice, and fresh meat, which provide important nutrition for people’s bodies. In contrast, fast food includes too much oil, sugar, and salt, while lacking vitamins and minerals. If people eat this kind of food regularly, they will become overweight and develop many diseases such as diabetes or heart disease. This means society may also face higher medical costs in the future.
Secondly, this can weaken family relationships and damage culture. Traditional food often requires much time to cook, and family members eat it together at home. This creates great opportunities for parents and children to talk, share experiences, and make connections between them stronger. However, when people buy ready-made food and eat separately, family communication becomes less frequent. In addition, national food reflects the history, culture, and customs. If the young generation prefer eating only international fast food, traditional dishes and cooking skills may gradually disappear.
In conclusion, I largely agree that replacing traditional food with international fast food has harmful consequences. It negatively affects public health, reduces family communication and can damage cultural traditions. Therefore, people should continue cooking and eating traditional food.
