It is argued that the replacement of traditional cuisine with international dishes has a negative impact on both families and society. However, I disagree with this view to a large extent. I believe that cultural exchange and the economic opportunities created by a wide variety of options play a crucial role in society and have a positive influence on people.
The main benefit is that this trend fosters cultural exchange, allowing people to become more tolerant of other cultures. This helps to maintain good relationships between nations and creates a multicultural society, where every individual feels accepted. For example, Kazakhstan is a great example of a country with rich ethnic diversity, home to more than five nationalities. Consequently, there are many restaurants offering different cuisines, such as Uzbek plov houses, Russian bakeries and Uighur lagman restaurants.
Another positive effect is that fewer people would be unemployed, as the growing demand for international foods creates new business opportunities, which in turn improves the employment situation in a country. As an example, there are many success stories of people who start family-run restaurants and provise their families with a stable income for many years. Therefore, these economic opportunities help build close-knit communities and strengthen bonds among families.
In conclusion, although adopting foreign foods over traditional ones may negatively affect households and the wider community, I strongly believe that its positive aspects, such as intercultural exchange and greater job opportunities undoubtedly outweigh the disadvantages.
