In some countries, following a vegetarian diet is becoming more common. In my opinion, although vegetarian diets can be expensive, they have a positive impact on our health, and I believe the advantages of this healthy lifestyle outweigh its drawbacks.
From one perspective, vegetarian meals are often high-priced, making them unaffordable for many people. The reasoning behind this view is that a vegan diet typically requires purchasing items like lettuce, broccoli, seaweed, and plant-based meat substitutes, which tend to be more costly than consuming octopus, fish, or oysters. Supporting this claim, a landmark study conducted in Mongolia revealed that vegans spend nearly half of their salary on food, and many tend to abandon their diet after several years. Consequently, it can be inferred that being vegan necessitates a financial commitment.
Conversely, vegetarian diets have a positive influence on our health. The rationale here is that consuming healthy foods such as vegetables, fruits, and seeds benefits our bodies, as they are rich in nutrients, minerals, and vitamins. This assertion is supported by a pivotal study conducted in Mongolia, which found that the incidence of heart disease among vegans is significantly lower than that of individuals who consume meat and fish. Therefore, it is evident that vegetarian meals are nutritious and lower the risk of illness.
In conclusion, while vegetarian food may be financially out of reach for some individuals, it has a positive impact on our health. Personally, I believe the benefits of a vegetarian diet far outweigh its disadvantages.
