With a stable trend of clashes between children and parents, the question of the number of kids in the family inevitably arises. Some people assume that having many relatives is more advantageous, while others tend to argue that coming from a small tribe is more beneficial. Although every point of view carries its own merit, I strongly believe that sharing your home with siblings has a positive influence on a person’s character.
First and foremost, it is worth mentioning how being raised in a big family affects individuals’ social and communicative skills. Living with siblings, especially older ones, contributes to a person’s capability of compassion, as they are usually the closest people in the family with whom they can share their worries, setting them an example of appropriate behaviour. For instance, in the majority of large families older children often guide younger ones how to deal with daily challenges, offering them a source of emotional support.
Another thing to support my point of view is the way siblings look up to each other, trying to follow in one another’s footsteps. Although it may lead to several disagreements between youngsters, I am strongly convinced that this provides an individual strong motivation for self-improvement. A prime example of this is how kids create role models based on the most successful child who receives the most of the parents’ attention, which encourages them to work harder and achieve their goals. Furthermore, the discipline developed during such a childhood becomes a crucial skill in one’s professional career.
