In the contemporary world, many well-known individuals take on a new role of being ideal examples for their followers, and, by extension, the general public. This phenomenon has a favorable impact on younger generations due to the educational effect of famed figures and their instrumental role in numerous humanitarian campaigns.
Opponents of famous individuals being deemed as role models predicate their argument on celebrities’ ethical lapses or dissolute lifestyle. However, their line of reasoning is flawed as it overlooks the scarcity of such circumstances and disregards many good attributes and charms possessed by people of fame. In this sense, as personages are always under public scrutiny, they must be inherently good or act decently. Failing to do so only brings condemnation in its train. Nevertheless, in either way, there are invariably beneficial impacts on the youth as they tend to model themselves on their idols.
Furthermore, people having a great fan base can be the driving force behind charity endeavors. Doubtless, no individual can rally a force as great as famed individuals do. Therefore, only when certain creditable people spearhead a philanthropic campaign will a significant number of people be willing to join hands and pool their resources, thereby alleviating the lives of those in dire need. Nowhere is this as evident as in Vietnam, where many household names often call for financial reliefs which will later be administered to those in flooded regions.
In conclusion then, youngsters with impressionable minds take their cue from the correct behavior of personages and be a part of their charitable endeavors. Having said that, younger generations must also exercise prudence and discernment so as not to be influenced by depraved celebrities.
