People saved their knowledge through writing in books a long time ago. However, at the present, there are many changes in technology so people tend to store knowledge on the internet. I believe that the benefits of this cutting-edge measure outweigh the drawbacks.
On the one hand, relying heavily on the information on the internet has its own disadvantages. First, we have to consider carefully about filtering the knowledge we are looking up because of the credibility. Unlike printed books, this method was not strictly verified, it can lead to the lack of understanding about the problem we need. Some people take advantage of this to scam, for example they can hack people’s bank account, address, and even some important information about others life. Additionally, reading from screens often causes eye strain through exposure to blue light at too close a distance and for too long a period of time.
On the other hand, the enormous advantages of digital knowledge storage outweigh these disadvantages. First and foremost, users can look up a treasure trove of knowledge conveniently. So we can do it everywhere, everytime with just a smart device.Users can access a global library at any time and from any location with just a click thanks to the availability of millions of books, scholarly papers, and articles. Digital storage also saves money and space. People from underprivileged backgrounds can access education more easily thanks to e-books and online repositories, which do away with the need for pricey physical books and physical storage facilities like traditional libraries. Finally, online information can be updated very fast, unlike paper books which take a long time to print again.
In conclusion, even though the internet has some problems like wrong information and distractions, I believe that it brings more benefits because of its convenience, low cost, and fast updates.
