Some people argue that cities should plant more trees on available soil, whereas others believe that this land should be used to provide homes for people in need. I strongly agree that governments should plant more trees on available land to improve air quality in cities and boost residents’ health and well-being.
One of the main reason why cities should use vacant land to plant trees is that it can help to challenge environmental problems. By planting more trees in urban areas, governments can solve problem with air pollution. It can be explained by the fact that trees and other plants convert carbon dioxide into oxygen. Nowadays, population in cities is growing, consequently cars users are increasing along side. Therefore, planting trees on available land is very important to decrease air pollution not only in small cities, but also in metropolises. For example, in a recent study scientists discovered that planting tree in Shanghai, significantly improved air quality and brought more benefits for inhabitants than building homes in another city in China.
Furthermore, afforestation can help not only to face environmental issues, but also can help to maintain heathy lifestyle of urban residents. This is because people have more area to spend their time at nature, where they can walk, run and do exercises. Moreover, green zones in cities can encourage adolescents to spend their time at clean air, and to discover outdoor activities. For instance, in recent research, researchers found that tree establishment improved people’s health, especially who had heart diseases.
Overall, I largely with people that believe that cities should use land for planting tree mainly because it can help both to address environmental issues and improve the health rate in cities.
